Again, you say? After you haven't posted anything for about one year?! Well, the reason I say again, my dear friends, is because I just posted a new blog, but as I was clicking the publish post button, I lost the bloody connection. So here I go, again, updating you on my life that you apparently are interested in.
I am indeed in Peru! This is my third day in Lima, and it is fantastico, although I am looking forward to getting on a bus today and traveling 1105 kilometers to Cusco, because I think that city probably has a better atmosphere than this one, and from there I can find a smaller village to hang out in. I know of a group of people who are building a dormitory in a place south of Cusco, so that might be groovy. The bus ride will give me a long chance to see a bit of the country. Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everything went very well on the way here. Nothing too crazy happened, which is always good when dealing with airports. The weather is wonderful...very warm. However what with the unregulated pollution that the vehicles put off here, I am looking forward to breathing in FRESH warm air elsewhere. That is one way that this place reminds me of Ethiopia. Also the friendly people, barred shops (and pretty much all buildings at night or when things are closed), and locals selling fruit and random things on the streets......and the driving, although it is milder than Addis Ababa.
So in a wee bit I shall venture out with my pack in the heat, while all the locals laugh at me, because I am going to bus my way down to the bigger bus station, instead of getting a taxi. So there.
I do hope that everyone is doing just absolutely wonderful. I hope everyone stays in touch! I love getting emails and hearing from people I am familiar with. It provides balance in the vagabond life. By the way, I do not have any pictures yet, as I have not yet seen anything that I am blown away by...I think the more beautiful part of Peru, aside from the people here, will be in smaller places....cities aren't really my thing.
